Hua Guan Crescent - TRACE | Design & Build

Concept

The irregular cul-de-sac plot that Hua Guan Crescent sits on presented a unique design challenge for us. We conceptualized a modern tropical home, with heavily articulate forms in the facade and a unique overhang in the carporch balcony

Approach

Timber elements were paired with darker tones, taking in the surrounding greenery to present a unique yet contextualized appeal. In order to maximize the house's natural positioning and double-volume living area, large windows were incorporated across the ground floor, dissolving the boundaries of indoors and outdoors

Functionality

Building on the theme of openness, a mezzanine floor was incorporated into the house design. On the upper levels, 4 bedrooms were built for the family's needs, with the master room located in the Attic floor. The Attic also houses a gym and an entertainment area that opens out to a high roof terrace
