Concept
Leith Road was a personal project by our founder, to transform a pair of semi-detached houses from a debilitated state into modern homes. One of the houses was envisioned with a modern twist on art deco architectural style, while the other consisted of articulated forms in the facade with varying textures
Approach
Both houses remain visually distinct from each other. A noteworthy feature for one property is the spiral stairs formed in a round arch, which served as a hightlight when viewed from the front facade. In the other property, modern asian influences were explored, particularly in the outdoor landscaping. Bamboo trees were lined along the perimeters of the house to lend a zen atmosphere
Functionality
Swimming pools with accompanying timber decks were built for one property. We designed to cater to a larger family unit with 4 bedrooms, each linked to separate bay windows to enjoy surrounding views. The other property consisted of several family areas in the upper floors, to accomodate gatherings and entertainment
