Sennett Avenue - TRACE | Design & Build

Concept

Sennett Avenue gave us a meaningful architecture challenge. The brief was to capitalize on the unique terrain of a corner plot, while designing for a home to house multiple generations. Our design pursues a modern take on art deco for a distinct, 11,071 sqft landmark

Approach

The architecture of this house is inspired by Art Deco, translated using modern design language. Organic curves and timber finishes were used to soften the angular edges, alongside horizontal sun shading and extensive glass panels as a feature at every level. These give the house greater regional context, for a tropical art deco aesthetic

Functionality

Sennett Avenue features 3 storeys and an attic. Externally, cascading steps with strip lighting leads to an infinity pool. Living spaces were catered to specific lifestyle requirements, including an onsen bath, and an extended study area. Spaces in the home were also designed to be elderly friendly in movement and utility
