Concept
West Coast Lane had a clear design directive; enabling the natural flow of air and sunlight into the property. We embraced 'openness' as a theme for the architecture design, with a unique double volume carporch and seamless boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces
Approach
An open design resulted in a distinct external facade, featuring a double volume carporch. This treatment allows the free flow of air from the front of the house, into living and dining spaces. Double volume windows into the courtyard were also designed for the main dining space, which allows light into the mezzanine and ground floors
Approach
The architecture of this house is inspired by Art Deco, translated using modern design language. Organic curves and timber finishes were used to soften the angular edges, alongside horizontal sun shading and extensive glass panels as a feature at every level. These give the house greater regional context, for a tropical art deco aesthetic
