Concept
West Coast Place started as a chance encounter where the homeowner reached out after seeing our work in District 5. The brief was for a contemporary redevelopment with minimal owner involvement. We explored a Contemporary Asian concept for this project, with consistent elements across the exterior and interiors
Approach
Our design approach kept contemporary Asian influences in mind, featuring warm balau timber strips with clean architectural lines. The styling of the house included asian elements such as stone sculptures and white marble for a consistent design language. A noteworthy feature unique to our project includes in-built recessed lightings along the staircase handrails, running from ground to top floors
Functionality
The house features clear demarcation of functional spaces across its 3 storeys (3,929 sqft GFA). The first storey doubles as the dining and living area, while the second storey serves as the living quarters. In the Attic, multiple bedrooms are available for guests, along with an entertainment area
"
Trace Design & Build is a very reliable builder, architect and designer. Their strong project management and attention to details helped rebuild my home from inception to TOP and post support. More importantly, Trace kept to my budget and timeline. The founder Edmund Kok is highly recommended. He is a veteran in the industry and treats his workers well, a good trait in this industry. I would strongly recommend Trace to anyone and have in fact offered my house as a testimonial for Trace to bring their future customers to visit. That shows how satisfied I am with their work and service
