Concept
Eng Kong Place was originally designed in a rustic, Mediterranean style for a family of expatriates. This property was then rejuvenated into its Mid-century Modern aesthetic seen today. The property features a long entryway that has been repurposed as a carporch and a herb garden for the homeowners
Approach
Eng Kong Place lends influence from mid-century modern architecture. Nestled on a slope, we emphasized the natural aesthetic of the property with a tiered garden feature wall. The unique terrain of the property was maximized across the built-up area and efficient planning of external features. Internally, an eclectic interior style was used to accommodate distinct preferences of the homeowners
Functionality
To meet the brief of the homeowners and their love for hosting, the square footage was expanded from 5,000 sqft to 6,500 sqft which was utilized for generous entertainment spaces. The ground floor housed an internal gymnasium and bar area, while the second storey served as the main communal area with living and dining. Entertainment areas were also available on the third and Attic levels, alongside the bedrooms
