Concept
Jalan Singa was designed to showcase a sense of understated elegance. We communicated this through the use of neutral colours and clean lines. To balance the large space around the perimeters of the house, we used horizontal forms in the facade to accentuate the width of the plot
Approach
The design of the house juxtaposes cool tones with warmer lightings across the facade. Contrast of colours were used to emphasize circulation and foot paths around the house. Respecting fengshui in the design, a koi tank with a triple waterfall design sits next to the front gate, for an invitation of abundance and wealth
Functionality
The house was extended to increase living space for the homeowner, especially for their bedrooms. The new built-in areas were divided to create functional spaces such as a kitchen, guest room, helper's room, and a powder room. Notably, an extensive wash area and a timber deck platform were constructed at the back of the house
